Saranno offerti da Christie’s in quattro aste, nelle sessioni di maggio e novembre 2014 a Londra e Amsterdam sette dipinti di grande prestigio, tra i quali spiccano le firme di Willem van de Velde II, Camille Pissarro e Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Gli occhi saranno puntati su Amsterdam il prossimo 13 maggio quando all’asta Old Masters and 19th Century Art il banditore offrirà ai collezionisti di tutto il mondo un olio su tela firmato Willem van de Velde II raffigurante una nave inglese. L’opera porta il titolo “An English Royal Yacht, probably the Katherine, and a man-of-war beyond, probably the Harwich with Charles II aboard on his way to, or from Portsmouth in 1675, on the occasion of the Launch of the Royal James” ed è stimata €120.000-180.000. Nella stessa occasione sarà offerto “Two orange tamarins with a fruit basket and a ring tailed lemur, with fruit in an interior”, una natura morta arricchita da tre scimmiette, realizzata a metà del XVII secolo dalla cerchia di Jan van Kessel I. L’opera sarà proposta ai buyers con una stima di €10,000-15,000.

Christie’s proseguirà poi a Londra con l’asta Impressionist and Modern Art in programma il prossimo 25 giugno. Con una stima compresa tra i £250,000 e i £350,000 balza subito all’occhio la tela di Camille Pissarro “Bords de la Seine à Bougival”, realizzata nel 1871. Il catalogo continua poi con “La Clairière”, un olio su tela di Pierre-Auguste Renoir del 1885, proposto a £120,000-180,000. E ancora Eva Gonzalès, con il suo “Bouquet de fleurs”, un olio su carta sarà offerta a £25,000-35,000.
Top lot all’asta serale di Old Master and British Paintings, che si svolgerà a Londra l’8 luglio sarà un Willem Van de Velde II. Con il titolo “Dutch States Yacjt, a smalschip, a Rhine ark and other vessels in a calm”, l’olio su tela del maestro secentesco sarà offerto per £180,000-250,000.
David Teniers II sarà invece presente nel catalogo di Old Masters and 19th Century Art, l’asta che si terrà il prossimo 25 novembre ad Amsterdam. La tela dipinta ad olio dal titolo “Peasants dancing outside a inn at Perck, with the Chateau de Drij Toren beyond” è stata stimata da Christie’s €120,000-180,000.
