Oggi, 12 dicembre 2017, andranno all’incanto da Phillips a New York 120 foto dalla collezione personale di Peter Fetterman, l’ultimo gallerista/mercante di Henri Cartier-Bresson, che ha lavorato con lui dal 1990 fino al 2004 (anno della morte).
Le fotografie arrivano in asta dopo un tour internazionale di mostre – Londra (29 settembre – 6 ottobre), Los Angeles (12-14 ottobre), Parigi (7-17 novembre) e New York (5-12 dicembre).
Peter Fetterman ha giocato un ruolo di primo piano nella diffusione del lavoro di Cartier-Bresson negli Stati Uniti. Molte foto della sua collezione sono state viste raramente in pubblico.
