Si è tenuta ieri allo Staples Center di Los Angeles la cerimonia di premiazione dei Grammy Awards, che vengono assegnati ogni anno dalla National Academy of Recording rts and Sciences, l’associazione che rappresenta i lavoratori dell’industria musicale statunitense: 105 categorie in gara, divise in 30 generi musicali.
I dominatori di quest’edizione sono stati i Daft Punk, il duo francese difatti si è aggiudicato 5 premi, tra i quali Best Album (Random Access Memories) e Record of The Year per Get Lucky -uno dei tormentoni radiofonici dello scorso 2013- cantata sul palco dei Grammy con Pharrell Williams e per l’occasione con una guest star d’eccezione: Stevie Wonder.
Il gruppo hip hop Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ha conquistato invece 4 grammofoni: miglior album rap -soffiando il premio a artisti come Jay Z e Kanye West- Best rap song (Thrift shop), Best Rap Performance e Best New Artist. Il gruppo si è esibito con Same Love: durante la performance 33 coppie sono convolate a nozze in diretta mondiale mentre sul finale ha fatto il suo ingresso Madonna per unirsi al gruppo e cantare l’evergreen Open Your Heart.
3 premi per Justin Timberlake, 2 per la giovanissima cantante neozelandese Lorde: Song Of The Year e Best Solo Perfomance per Royals, che è riuscita a battere le smash hit di Pink (Just Give Me a Reason) e di Katy Perry (Roar) che, come ormai di tradizione, nonostante sia amatissima dalle classifiche e dal pubblico rimane all’asciutto di statuette.
Tra gli altri premi assegnati segnaliamo un grammofono a testa per Rihanna (Best Urban Contemporary Album per Anapologetic), Alicia Keys (Best R&B Album per Girl On Fire) e per i Vampire Weekend (Best Album Alernative per il loro Moderne Vampires of The City).
Ad animare la serata ci hanno pensato, tra le altre, le esibizioni di Beyoncé che ha scaldato il palco con la sua sensualissima Drunk in Love e di Paul McCarney con Ringo Starr.
