La vendita di arte decorative del XX secolo e design che si è tenuta a Londra ha totalizzato £ 1,251,450 con 83 lotti venduti su 120 offerti. Di seguito il commento di Joy McCall, Head of 20th Century Decorative Art & Design, Christie’s London: “We are pleased with the strong results of today’s auction which realised £1,251,450. The carefully selected sale showcased highly desirable works which were both rare and in excellent condition. Such quality inspired international interest from both private collectors and the trade. This active participation crossed the spectrum of media and styles offered, from furniture and textiles to lighting and sculpture, with many works considerably exceeding their pre-sale estimates. We are thrilled with the excellent price realised for the superb set of four Carlo Mollino dining chairs which fetched £169,250 and are pleased to be offering an ‘Arabesque’ table by Mollino in our 16 December sale in New York. We look forward to the 20th Century Decorative Arts sale at South Kensington tomorrow, 29 October 2008.”
