La vendita newyorkese di Phillips di Fotografie ha totalizzato $6,089,250 (£3,759,016 / €4,501,770) con un venduto dell’82% per valore e del 71% per lotto.
Le numerose offerte sono arrivate sia dalla sala che dai telefoni e da internet. Buon la risposta alle opere nuove sul mercato. La selezione di 48 lotti provenienti da una collezione privata (Property From A Distinguished California Collection) ha realizzato 85% di venduto (94% per valore) e comprendeva lavori di Robert Frank, Irving Penn, Robert Mapplethorpe, Nick Brandt e Sebastião Salgado.
Due stampe di Diane Arbus hanno realizzato ottimi prezzi: Patriotic Young Man with a Flag, N.Y.C., 1967 è stata venduta a $93,750 e King and Queens of a senior citizens’ dance, N.Y.C., 1970, la copertina del catalogo, è passata di mano per $161,000, raddoppiando la stima più alta.
