La Evening Sale di Impressionist & Modern da Christie’s è passata alla storia come la prima vendita, per incassi, nella storia di quelle europee sino ad oggi. Alla fine l’incasso totale è stato di £ 121,127,200 (178.056.984 euro). 30 i lotti battuti a oltre 1 milione di sterline. 46 quelli aggiudicati a oltre 1 milione di dollari. Inoltre la vendita ha stabilito record mondiali per gli artisti italiani Giorgio Morandi e Alberto Magnelli. Una “Natura morta” di Giorgio Morandi dipinta nel 1920 e stimata £900,000-1,200,000 ha realizzato £1,364,000, mentre “La toilette” di Alberto Magnelli eseguita nel 1917 ha superato la stima di £400,000-600,000 totalizzando £916,000
