Le aste dedicate ai dipinti antichi hanno totalizzato $112,542,797, il secondo totale più alto mai realizzato da sotheby’s a New York nelle vendite di Old Master. Sedici i nuovi record per artista stabiliti.

La vendita del 26 gennaio di “Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture” ha totalizzato $90,626,878: il capolavoro di Tiziano “A Sacra Conversazione: The Madonna and Child with Saints Luke and Catherine of Alexandria” ha realizzato un nuovo record mondiale, è stato agggiudicato a $16.9 milioni a un collezionista privato europeo. “Property from the Collection of Charles Ryskamp” ha realizzato $1,628,727 (st. $800,000/1.2 milioni). Durante la vendita di “Old Master Drawings” “Jupiter and Juno” di Perino del Vaga è stato venduto al Metropolitan Museum of Art per $782,500. La Evening Sale di “Important Old Master & 19th Century Paintings from the Collection of Jacob Elie Safra” ha archiviato sette nuovi record per artista.
