La Evening Sale da Christie’s ha totalizzato $140,773,500 (£88,687,305/ €102,764,655), con tre opere vendute oltre i 10 milioni di dollari. Le tre collezioni provate in catalogo hanno realizzato un ottimo risultato: Property From the Collection of Lew and Edie Wasserman ha totalizzato 8.5 milionidi dollari; The Collection of John W. Kluge, (vendita di beneficenza per la Columbia University) ha archiviato 4.9 milioni di dollari e A Distinguished West Coast Collectionha realizzato 10.5 milioni di dollari. Il top lot della vendita è stato il dipinto di Max Ernst “The Stolen Mirror”, aggiudicato a $16,322,500 (£10,283,175/€11,915,425), che ha realizzato un nuovo record per l’artista triplicando quello precedente. Nuovo record mondiale per una stampa venduta all’asta per “La femme qui pleure, I” di Pablo Picasso (aggiudicata a $5,122,500 ). La scultura di Constantin Brancusi “Le premier cri”, rimasta in mani private per 35 anni, è stata venduta per $14,866,500 (£9,365,895/ €10,852,545) a un collezionista privato europeo (la stima pre asta era di 8-10 milioni di dollari). La tanto acclamata ballerina di Degas è invece andata invenduta.
