Dopo la pausa estiva, riparte la stagione delle aste con i primi appuntamenti a Londra. Si comincia nella sede di South Kensington – ritenuta “minore” rispetto a quella di King Street –  dove Christie’s organizza aste anche per buyers con tasche non multimilionarie. Per la cronaca la sede di South Kensington è una delle sale d’aste più attive della Gran Bretagna, con un giro di oltre 200.000 visitatori all’anno. Segno che le buone occasioni attirano.

E’ qui che si è svolta mercoledì 12 settembre un primo appuntamento con l’arte contemporanea e del dopo guerra, in attesa della “First Open” a New York (19 settembre) e delle prime vendite di rilievo di ottobre (Italian Sale & Contemporary). In catalogo 190 lotti con stime comprese tra le 400 e le  150,000 sterline.  Con alcune chicche che hanno interessato i nuovi collezionisti alla ricerca di opere per portafogli contenuti.

Nel blu dipinto di blu (dalla collezione Loch)

Otto opere provengono dalla collezione di Siegfried Loch e consorte (meglio conosciuti come Siggi e Sissy Loch). Siegfried  è un produttore musicale tedesco che vive e lavora a Berlino. Oltre alla musica, a cui si avvicina già alla giovane età di 15 anni, è appassionato anche di arte. Dopo aver acquistato la prima opera, “Vierwaldstatter See” di Gerhard Richter del 1973,  inzia a ingrandire la sua collezione facendola ruotare intorno al colore blu. Una parte consistente della raccolta (con opere di Yves Klein, Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz, Sigmar Polke, Ernst Wilhelm Nay, Sam Francis) è già andata all’asta a giugno nella Evening e nella Day Sale di Post War & Contemporary  Art.
Nel catalogo, che verrà esitato mercoledì prossimo, 8 opere tutte sui toni del blu:  i lotti 17, 45, 49, 127, 128, 130, 133 e 136. Tra i più belli un grande “Untitled” del 2007 di Herbert Brandl  (300,5 x 401 cm) stimato 20/25,000 sterline e un piccolo e delicato acrilico del 1994 di Marcia Hafif (stima 1,500 – 2,500 sterline).

Piccoli capolavori a stime interessanti

Al di fuori della collezione Loch, il catalogo offre molte oppurtinatà di investimento presentando una ricca varietà di opere per genere e stile, dai disegni alla fotografia, alle sculture. Tra gli highlights un olio su masonite del 1956 di Josef Albers stimato 100/150,000 sterline. Christian Boltanski  è presente con un teatro delle ombre  degli anni Novanta presentato a £50,000 – £70,000 (clicca qui per vedere il video realizzato da Christie’s sull’opera) e un “Untitled ” di Keith Haring del 1982 (firmato e datato sul retro  ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS JONATHAN 1982 Love, Keith’) è offerto a £20,000 – £30,000.

Si segnala, per l’ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, un piccolo Mimmo Rotella del ’57 (31.1 x 27.3 cm). Un Pappagallo di Pistoletto (100 x 69.6 cm, 1971) è presentato a £10,000 – £15,000.  “Blu Eden” di Marcello Lo Giudice (140.5 x 140.5cm, del 2010) è stimato £4,000 – £6,000
