CHRISTIE’S, 06/02/2013 – La Evening Sale di Arte impressionista e moderna ha realizzato 98,311,650 GBP. Sui 37 lotti in catalogo, 4 sono rimasti invenduti. Di questi tre Wassily Kandinsky. Nel 2012 la vendita di “Impressionist/Modern” aveva totalizzato 97,814,150 GBP e “The Art of The Surreal” 37,185,250 GBP.
Ottima performance per un olio di Berthe Morisot: “Après le déjeuner” era stimato £1,500,000 – £2,500,000 ed è stato aggiudicato – dopo una lunga lotta fra diversi bidders – a £6,985,250 ($10,980,813), quasi il triplo della stima più alta (record mondiale per un’opera di una donna in asta). Il tanto atteso ritratto di Jeanne con il cappello di Amedeo Modigliani ha realizzato £26,921,250 ($42,320,205) conquistando il primo posto sul podio. Al secondo, con un distacco di oltre 17 milioni di sterline, una bella donna con ombrello di Auguste Renoir (61.9 x 50.8 cm.) che ha realizzato £9,673,250 ($15,206,349). Medaglia di bronzo per Pablo Picasso che con “Nu accroupi” (146 x 114.1 cm.) del 1960 ha realizzato £7,321,250 ($11,509,005). L’unico Kandinsky aggiudicato dei 4 presenti in catalogo, “Murnau – Ansicht mit Burg, Kirche und Eisenbahn” (48 x 69 cm) del 1909 , è passato di mano per £6,761,250 ($10,628,685).
Tra i nostri, oltre a Modigliani, Alberto Magnelli ha realizzato un nuovo record mondiale per l’artista con 1,161,250 sterline ($1,825,485) battute per “Maschere No 1” (stima: £400,000 – £600,000/ $628,800 – $943,200). Giorgio Morandi era in catalogo con tre opere, tutte aggiudicate (lotti 6/7/31).
L’asta dedicata all’arte surrealista (subito dopo la Evening Sale) ha realizzato 38,150,450 GBP. Sommando le due vendite Christie’s ha realizzato 136,462,100 sterline

SOTHEBY’S, 05/02/2013 – 104,404,900 GBP il totale della Evening Sale di impressionisti e moderni da Sotheby’s del 5 febbraio 2013. Un netto incremento rispetto ai 78,9 milioni di sterline incassati nell’analoga vendita del 2012. Il mercato continua a crescere, dunque. Nella stessa serata i Surrealisti hanno incassato 16,670,500 GBP. Portando così il totale delle vendite di una sera a 121,075,400 sterline. Il capolavoro di Picasso (lotto 12) si è fermato al minimo della mega stima (25-35 milioni GPB) e alla fine è stato aggiudicato (diritti compresi) a 28,601,250 sterline. Molto bene la pittura tedesca con ottimi prezzi per Schiele. In ripresa netta anche la pittura impressionista. Un magnifico pastello di Degas (lotto 13), stimato 2.5-3,5 milioni di sterline, è stato venduto per 7,769,250 GBP. Qui sotto guarda tutti i risultati (diritti d’asta compresi).
Commentando l’asta Helena Newman, Presidente di Sotheby’s Europa per l’Arte Impressionista & Moderna: “Siamo felici del magnifico risultato della vendita che ha realizzato un totale di €140,798,252 – il nostro secondo totale di sempre – e secondo solo alla vendita del 2010 (quella, per intenderci, della scultura di Giacometti – L’ Uomo che cammina)“.
92,5 % la percentuale di venduto.
- top price per Pablo Picasso’s grande ritratto del 1932 di Marie-Thérèse, Femme Assise Près D’Une Fenêtre, venduto al telefono per €33,260,316 (est. £25-35 million).
- Provenienti dal Leopold Museum di Vienna, i 3 capolavori su carta di Egon Schiele, tra i lavori su carta più importanti mai prima presentati in asta hanno totalizzato €16,294,226.
- Il disegno più importante del gruppo Lovers (Selfportrait With Wally) del 1914,è stato venduto a €9,165,084 realizzando l’auction record per un’opera su carta dell’artista (est. £6.5-8.5 million).
- Il monumentale dipinto di ninfee di Claude Monet Nymphéas avec reflets de hautes herbes, del 1914-17, è stato venduto a €10,467,529.
- Dalla Collection of The Late Earl Of Jersey il paesaggio innevato di Claude Monet Le Givre à Giverny (est. £4-6 million) è stato aggiudicato a €10,207,040.
Tra i Surrealisti (clicca qui per vedere i risultati) in evidenza il risultato per Dalì: Salvador Dalí, Portrait of Mrs Harrison Williams (già Contessa Mona Bismarck) del 1943, Filippo Lotti, ad Sotheby’s Italia commenta: “Questo capolavoro di Dalì ci ricorda il lungo legame di Sotheby’s con la Contessa Mona Bismarck di cui in Italia vendemmo nel lontano 1987 gli Arredi delle magnifiche ville di Capri”.
