647.782.471 milioni di dollari. La Top Ten delle opere più care vendute nei primi sei mesi del 2019 ha visto un calo del 20,7% rispetto a quella del “First Half” del 2018 (816.756.337 dollari). Secondo il report di ArtTactic il giro d’affari del mercato dell’arte delle tre principali case d’asta Christie’s, Sotheby’s e Phillips in questo primo semestre si è assestato su $5.55 miliardi, in calo sullo stesso periodo del 2018 del 20,3%. La Top Ten e il calo di fatturato offrono una “fotografia” di un mercato che forse sta cambiando, con una virata verso il contemporaneo. Ben due opere sono di artisti viventi.
