Il Cogito ergo sum di Cartesio è il simbolo della resa del genere umano alle fattispecie del concettuale e dello spirituale nel pensiero unico
Conosco molti creativi di talento che smettono di produrre perché convinti di non avere le intuizioni adatte ad una produzione di qualità. A volte mi verrebbe da dire: “Non ti preoccupare, non sei tu che non sei abbastanza intellettuale, è solo che come tutti gli altri soffri di capitalismo e di meccanismi di potere“. Non mi sono mai fidata di quelli che iniziano i discorsi dicendo: ”Sai, storicamente…“, perché mi sembra che non parlino mai di niente e che non abbiano un pensiero critico. A proposito mi sembra molto interessante ciò che viene scritto da Fritjof Capra nel libro Il Tao della fisica. Dove si racconta di quanto la società occidentale odierna soffra ancora d’ansia da prestazione dovuta ad una frase detta mille anni fa da Cartesio.
Con Cogito ergo sum egli contribuisce alla credenza che il corpo sia diviso dalla mente, e che dia alla mente l’arduo compito di confrontarsi con l’intero mondo. Per cui tutto acquisisce valore solamente se ha uno sfondo concettuale o meglio spirituale. Il concettuale spiega il mondo e gli dà un contesto, alimenta il senso e la ragione della produzione alimentando un senso di incomprensione sempre più presente nell’intera comunità. In Italia lo vedo abbastanza chiaro, il più delle volte nei musei non si capisce assolutamente niente (anche per gli addetti ai lavori) e gli artisti esposti si capiscono anche meno.
Mi sembrano tutti discorsi detti bene per spiegare cose fatte molto spesso male. Ma la verità forse è che non siamo noi che non capiamo, siamo solo vittime di un sistema fatto di caste e feudi che ci tiene a mantenere questo stato di inadeguatezza culturale. Perché è necessaria la distanza tra gli “intellettuali” e tutti gli altri per esercitare lo stato del controllo finanziario e del capitale presente nelle mani di quei pochi che altrimenti non saprebbero giustificare la propria posizione.

Although I’ve never trusted those who start grand speeches with “From a historical point of view...” because it seems like they never talk about anything and lack critical thinking, what Capra writes in his book “The Tao of Physics” is very interesting. He tells us how contemporary Western society still suffers from performance anxiety due to a phrase said a thousand years ago by Cartesio.
“Cogito ergo sum,” which contributes to the belief that the body is separate from the mind and gives the mind the arduous task of confronting the complexity of the world. Therefore, today everything seems to acquire value only if it has an ultra-conceptual background. The conceptual explains the world and provides it with context, constructing the meaning and reason for production. But fueling a state of incomprehension that is increasingly present throughout the community. In Italy, I see it quite clearly. Most of the time, in museums, absolutely nothing is understood (even by the experts), and the exhibited artists are even less understood.
They all seem like well-spoken speeches to explain things that are often done poorly. “But what speeches”, Daniele Silvestri would say, and I ask myself the same question. But perhaps the truth is that it’s not us who don’t understand; we are just victims of a system made up of castes and factions that strive to maintain this general state of cultural inadequacy. The distance between the “intellectuals” and everyone else is necessary to exercise financial control. And maintain the capital in the hands of the few who wouldn’t otherwise be able to justify their position.
