Art Basel Hong Kong: a big surprise.

March is traditionally rich on important and prestigious art fairs all over the world. Directors, curators, trustees and patrons from all over the world’s leading international museums and institutions are going to Maastricht for TEFAF in the beginning of the month, continue their journey to Dubai for Dubai Design Days and Art Dubai in the middle of the month, then further down to Art Basel show in Hong Kong, and just after the Easter celebrations, Art Paris VIP vernissage is opening on March, 30.

And today I would like to dwell upon one of the world’s premier art shows for Modern and contemporary works, sited in Hong Kong. Defined by its host city and region, it is a unique experience, which is reflected in its participating galleries, artworks presented, and the content of parallel programming produced in collaboration with local institutions for its edition. In addition to ambitious stands featuring leading galleries from around the globe, HK Art Basel show is a spotlight of the latest developments in the visual arts, offering visitors new ideas and new inspiration.

‘THE FUTURE WAS’ – that’s how the ART DUBAI 2016 will be.

This March is going to be very rich in art events around the world: starting from VOLTA NY, The Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show and the 52nd Annual Rotary Key Biscayne Art Festival in USA, TEFAF Maastricht in the Netherlands, Art Ankara in Turkey, Art Basel in Hong Kong, Biennale Of Sydney in Australia, Art Paris in France and the tenth edition of Art Dubai in the UAE.

So, now that it is time to confirm the schedule for art fairs, I would like to share with you some news on Art Dubai that has already announced the full March 2016 programme and list of contributors for the tenth edition of the Global Art Forum – the annual five-day arts conference known internationally as a particularly innovative platform for contemporary cultural debate.

“Молчание Убивает” – арт протест Дианы Штауэр в самом сердце Милана.

На этой неделе в самом центре Милана русская художница и писательница Диана Августа Штауэр совершила новую арт-акцию протеста против любых форм насилия.

После получения награды от президента Илье Эрол Международного Сороптимист клуба за своею благотворительную художественную выставку “Леди мира против насилия” в Анкаре 2015, Диана Августа Штауэр вновь обращает внимание на актуальность проблемы насилия в отношении женщин. Акция против насилия состоялась 18 февраля 2016 года, в Милане.

Sundance Film Festival opening.

The 32nd Sundance Film Festival kicked off yesterday in Park City, Utah, with the traditional press conference headlined by the president of the Sundance Institute – Robert Redford, who founded the festival at his Sundance Resort in 1978, naming it after the character who made him famous.

26th EDITION OF ART MIAMI

Д.А.Штауэр: Профессор Бривио, вы были на моей выставке “Леди мира против насилия” в 2014 году в Милане, где я последовала концепции Федора Достоевского “Красота спасет мир”, представив портреты женщин мира, принцесс разных культурных традиций. В этом году, открыв одноименную выставку в Анкаре я пошла далее, показав человеческую драму, страдая от которой женщины закрывают лица. Что вы думаете об этих картинах?

Interview with Sonja Pev: “No to any form of violence!”.

Today, when the whole world is shivering in panic for the attacks of terrorists, I would like to mention the international anti-violence initiatives, taking place just before the November, 25, designated by The United Nations General Assembly as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Personally I just have had an interview with the Channel 6, explaining my art initiative “Ladies of the world against violence” at Firca Art Gallery in Ankara and the importance of raising awareness and funds for fighting for a better future of women and children of all the countries of the world.

The Lady of Art Enlightenment and Anti-Violence initiatives in Ankara.

Usually people have a stereotype of the art gallerist: always opening champagne and inviting journalists and collectors to the openings of the new exhibitions, talking about art and wearing stylish clothes. Then selling the artworks and going to the art events in different parts of the world. Is it really so?

Today I have decided to ask a few questions to a “Lady of Enlightenment”, that is pushing forward art, culture, social, education, and anti-violence initiatives. You have already met her last month, and I am pleased to have a second interview with this amazing “wizard of art and women protection”, Mrs. Semra Sancak from Ankara, Turkey.
