La Evening Sale di Christie’s, inclusa la prima parte della collezione di Peter Norton (lotti 1-26), ha totalizzato $247,597,000 (£153,510,140/ €178,269,840 – 90% sold by lot, 87% by value). 16 nuovi record mondiali sono stati realizzati tra i quali Roy Lichtenstein, Paul McCarthy, Charles Ray, Louise Bourgeois e altri. Il top lot della vendita è stato “I Can See the Whole Room…and There’s Nobody in It!” di Roy Lichtenstein che ha realizzato un nuovo record mondiale per l’artista. E’ stato aggiudicato a $43,202,500 (₤26,785,550/€31,105,800)
