Paris – New York – Christie’s is pleased to present a two-part series of sales of furniture and works of art from Steinitz, the renowned Parisian antiques gallery, in Paris (20 June) and then in New York (21 June). Following the three international sales of Le Goût Steinitz from Fall 2007, this sale of over 160 lots will feature a superb selection of European Furniture and works of art spanning from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
Considered one of the finest and most prestigious dealers of fine arts and antiques in Paris, Bernard Steinitz first opened his gallery in 1968. He quickly became known around the world for his refined taste and his delight in discovering the rare and beautiful. This passion is shared with his son Benjamin, who joined his father’s business in 1991. Steinitz counts among his clients the world’s most important private collectors and institutions, and has long been lauded for his generosity to such institutions as the Musée du Louvre and the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
