Cosa Nostra, una selling exhibition dedicata a Maurizio Cattelan

Dal 30 ottobre al 26 novembre 2014, Sotheby’s S|2 e Venus Over Manhattan presentano Cosa Nostrala prima grande selling exhibition delle opere di Maurizio Cattelan dal 2011, anno della mostra Maurizo Cattelan: All al Guggenheim di New York e del suo successivo “pensionamento”. A cura del collezionista e gallerista and gallerist Adam Lindemann, l’esposizione propone  opere che provengono da importanti collezioni private, che valgono tra i$ 30.000 e i $ 20 milioni.

Alexander Rotter – Co-Head of Sotheby’s Worldwide Contemporary Art Department – ha commentato:“Maurizio Cattelan è uno dei più distintivi artisti del nostro tempois one of the most distinctive artists of our time. Sia che sia divertiti o shoccati per il suo lavoro, non si può non apprezzare la forza profonda dei suoi lavori”.

Adam Lindemann ha dichiarato: “Il titolo Cosa Nostra si riferisce alla radici e alla sensibilità italiana di Maurizio, oltre che alla mia confidenza con lui. Si può anche vedere come una sorta di strizzatina d’occhio alla collaborazione tra S|2 e Venus”

Le selling exhibition S|2 da Sotheby’s a New York hanno avuto inizio nel 2011: dalla galleria dedicata esclusivamente alle SE di Arte Contemporanea sono passati Sam Francis, Keith Haring, Kusama (HK), Calder, Penone e altri.
