Annunciate le nomination ai Premi Oscar 2018, la cerimonia (la n° 90) è prevista per domenica 4 marzo.
Oscar 2018: 4 nomination per Luca Guadagnino e il suo Chiamami Col Tuo Nome (Miglior film, attore protagonista, sceneggiatura non originale, miglior canzone), 13 per Guillermo Del Toro, già Leone d’Oro con La Forma dell’Acqua.
Il successo di Guadagnino, nonostante sia italiano, è tutto straniero. Chiamami Col Tuo Nome è arrivato agli Oscar dopo esser stato acclamato dalla critica internazionale e aver conquistato premi un po’ ovunque. In Italia non è ancora uscito (esce il 25 gennaio, giovedì).
Ogni film di Guadagnino, da Io Sono l’Amore a A Bigger Splash in Italia è stato accolto in maniera tiepida, per poi avere riscontri più favorevoli all’estero. In questo caso produzione e distribuzione hanno deciso quindi di invertire le carte.
Guadagnino è un talento tutto italiano che all’Italia non è mai interessato (e che forse nemmeno ci meritiamo), ma che dai grandi maestri del cinema italiano ha attinto stile e gusto per le avventure internazionali.
Nove film che si contendono il titolo di miglior film agli Oscar 2018: Chiamami col tuo nome, Dunkirk, Get Out, Il filo nascosto, Lady Bird, La forma dell’acqua, L’ora più buia, The Post e Tre manifesti a Ebbing Missouri.
Dunkirk di Christopher Nolan è a quota otto candidature, Tre manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri di Martin McDonagh invece a sette.
Meryl Streep, dal canto suo, ha ottenuto la sua ventunesima nomination, per il suo ruolo da protagonista in The Post di Steven Spielberg: groundbreaking. La Streep dovrà contendersi la statuetta con Frances McDormand nominata per Tre manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri, Margot Robbie per Io, Tonya, Sally Hawkins per La forma dell’acqua e Saoirse Ronan per Lady Bird.
Daniel Day-Lewis, unico ad aver vinto tre Oscar come miglior attore protagonista con Il filo nascosto di Paul Thomas Anderson rischia di vincere il quarto.Per compiere l’impresa dovrà battere To Daniel Kaluuya nominato per Get Out, Denzel Washington per Roman J. Israel, Esq., Gary Oldman per L’ora più buia e Timothe’e Chalamee per Chiamami col tuo nome.
