I diademi della «Grandeur» imperiale creati dalla Maison Chaumet durante la Bell’Epoque, saranno esposti al Salon du Dessin, la fiera del disegno in arrivo a Parigi dal 21 al 26 marzo 2018.

La Maison Chaumet, celebre gioielliere parigino dal 1780, espone eccezionalmente all’interno del Salon du Dessin (21-26 marzo 2018) alcuni disegni selezionati per la mostra “L’art du dessin chez Chaumet: Imaginer – créer”. Chaumet intende così mettere in luce tutta la sua abilità ed eccellenza creativa nel realizzare diademi – emblema della Maison – attraverso i secoli.

Tra i 38 disegni selezionati, molti dei quali sono esposti in pubblico per la prima volta, si segnala il disegno originale per la realizzazione di una tiara alata destinata a Gertrude Vanderbilt), moglie di Harry Payne Whitney. Tema audace nel repertorio Bell’Epoque di Chaumet, la tiara ha una duplice funzione e può essere trasfarmata in spilla, ed è una viva testimoniare della straordinaria ecletticità e ricchezza del patrimonio di una della più antiche Maison della gioielleria parigina. Allieva di Rodin, Gertrude Vanderbilt era essa stessa scultrice e collezionista. Ha fondato Vogue e il Whitney Museum di New York. Chaumet ha ricomprato questo gioiello assieme alla sua storia il 20 maggio 1910 per 16.226 Franchi.
