La primavera dell’arte è nella Big Apple. Al via TEFAF New York Spring

Dopo il successo della prima edizione newyorkese TEFAF New York Fall dello scorso ottobre – concentrata su arte figurativa e decorativa dall’antichità agli anni Venti – la prima delle due fiere gemelle figlie della storica TEFAF Maastricht, apre al pubblico domani, 4 maggio,  TEFAF New York Spring, e prosegue fino all’8 maggio 2017 negli spazi della storica Park Avenue Armory di New York.

Il focus sarà sull’Arte Moderna, Contemporanea e Design. Alla Fiera parteciperanno 93 tra i più illustri mercanti d’arte del mondo, che proporranno arte e design di qualità museale; inoltre un piccolo numero di gallerie metterà in mostra gioielli, arte africana e oceanica, e antichità.

TEFAF New York Spring intende celebrare i principali movimenti artistici degli ultimi 120 anni. Nella seconda metà del XX secolo, New York ha dato un forte contributo all’arte dell’era contemporanea, e ha fatto da casa a veri pionieri: artisti curatori, galleristi e collezionisti di Espressionismo Astratto, Pop e Minimalismo.

“Il lancio di TEFAF New York Spring completa il primo grande ciclo di espansione di TEFAF di quest’anno, e siamo lieti che le nuove Fiere abbiano riscosso un grande interesse”, ha commentato Michael Plummer, Co-Managing Director di TEFAF New York.

Jeff Rabin, Co-Managing Director, ha dichiarato: “le due Fiere di New York rappresentano un’importante espansione del portafoglio TEFAF, che così offre ai collezionisti e ai musei di oggi un’ulteriore piattaforma”. Ha inoltre aggiunto: “le proposte espositive di TEFAF New York Spring, enfatizzate dall’allestimento elegante, pulito ed etereo di Tom Postma, cattureranno l’attenzione di collezionisti nuovi e consolidati”.

 

TEFAF New York vedrà una ricca programmazione di appuntamenti culturali e la partnership della Metropolitan Opera, che il 7 maggio festeggerà i suoi cinquant’anni.
