Da Cranach a Courbet. Il Brooklyn Museum raccoglie 6,6 milioni da Christie’s

A metà settembre era uscita la notizia che il Brooklyn Museum di New York aveva affidato 12 opere della sua collezione permanente a Christie’s per trovare fondi per il mantenimento della sua collezione. La casa d’aste ne ha vendute 9.

Erano distribuite tra due aste, entrambe esitate il 15 ottobre: quella di “European Art Part I” che ha fatto 6,639,250 e “Old Master” che  ha realizzato 23,602,750 dollari, rispetto a una stima pre asta di 19.3-29 milioni.

Le nove opere del museo insieme hanno fatto $ 6,6 milioni (per la precisione, 6.590.500). Più del doppio della stima totale di prevendita $ 2,3 milioni – $ 3,5 milioni. Nel dettaglio le 6 opere venduta nell’asta Old Master hanno fatto 5.436.250 dollari, mentre le quattro del catalogo “European Art”  1.154.250 dollari.

Spiccano Lucas Cranach il Vecchio, Gustave Courbet e Camille Corot. Altre opere del Brooklyn Museum sono nei cataloghi delle vendite online, dall’1 al 20 ottobre, sempre parte della “Classic Week” che non si è ancora conclusa.
